Overview

This faculty will be responsible for providing educational leadership, student instruction and advisement in the Architectural Technology courses.

Qualifications

Education:

*Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related discipline. (Minimum)
*Master’s Degree in Architecture or a related discipline. (Desired)
*In-depth knowledge of CAD as applied to architectural drawing and an in-depth knowledge of building science and sustainability (Desired)
*Doctorate in a related discipline. (Desired)
*Licensure as a Registered Architect or Professional engineer. (Desired)
*Formal coursework in Education.(Desired)

 

Experience:

*Four (4) years of professional experience in architecture or closely related jobresponsibilities. (Minimum)
*Experience in computer graphics, computer applications, or computer-aided design. (Minimum)
*Experience with sustainability issues in the AEC industry (Desired)
*Two (2) years of teaching experience at the college/university level.(Desired)

*Competence in oral and written communication skills. (Minimum)

*Ability to provide quality instruction. (Minimum)

*Developed organizational skills. (Minimum)

*Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff and other faculty.(Minimum)

*Possession of a valid driver’s license. (Desired)

Responsibilities

-Instruct and evaluate student performance in Architectural Technology and in Building Science and Sustainable Design, including but not limited to all course work within the curricula. (Essential)
-Provide coordination and supervision for instructional field projects. (Marginal)
-Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate records on students. (Essential)
-Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines. (Essential)
-Write and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum review, revision, and development. (Essential)
-Assume responsibility for laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.(Essential)
-Comply with College safety, hazardous waste disposal, and recycling policies.(Essential)
-Engage in professional development and technological upgrading activities. (Essential)
-Contribute to betterment of College through School, department, and College-wide committee participation. (Essential)
-Assist with the development and maintenance of course, department, and school Outcomes Assessment plans, activities, and documentation. (Essential)
-Assist with the development of grant proposals and with follow-up activities. (Essential)
-Collect, maintain, and analyze student outcomes assessment data for use within the department and School. (Essential)
-Assist the Department Head in developing instructional material lists, equipment specifications, department budget requests, and assist in planning and development of the master schedule. (Essential)
-Assist in providing tours and student recruitment activities scheduled by the College, School, and/or department. (Essential)

*The terms and conditions of employment for this position are subject to all the provisions of the bargaining agreement between Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Education Association.

Pay Transparency

Commensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College’s Faculty Salary System. As a point of reference, the salary range for new full-time faculty hired in various disciplines throughout the College for the 2023/24 academic year is $59,299 – $77,142. The wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for full-time teaching faculty, counselors and librarians (all regular College funded positions and certain grant/contract funded positions) are determined by the negotiated Agreement between Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Education Association. If you are currently receiving an annuity from the State or Public School Employees’ Retirement System, employment at Pennsylvania College of Technology may affect your annuity status. If you are currently a member of either the State or Public School Employees’ Retirement System you may be required to contribute into the System.
