Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, or related discipline. Required
  • Master's Degree in Engineering Technology, or related discipline. Preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years teaching experience in a machining and or automated manufacturing program with multi-axis CNC machining, robotics, and related automation Preferred
  • 5 years of industrial experience in manual and 5-axis CNC machining, CAD/CAM, robotics, and related automation Required
  • 3-5 years of experience in common milling and turning operations, abrasive machining, and heat treatment. Required
  • Experience in programming, setup and operation of multi-axis CNC machinery, robotics and control systems that are part of a computer integrated manufacturing environment. Required
  • Experience with parametric design software such as AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, or Inventor, and CAM software such as MasterCAM, as well as advanced CNC programming using macros and subprograms. Required

  • Developed organizational skills. Required
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. Required
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required

 

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and evaluate student performance in the Automation, advanced manufacturing, quality assurance, and/or Computer Integrated Manufacturing courses.
  • Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate up-to-date records on students.
  • Write and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum review, revision, and development.
  • Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
  • Engage in professional development and technological upgrading activities.
  • Contribute to the betterment of the College through School committee participation.

  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the development of grant proposals and with follow-up activities.
  • Contribute to the betterment of the College through College-wide committee participation.
  • Assume responsibility for laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.
  • Physical Standards and Special Job Features

    Required lifting of weights up to 50 pounds. Requires ability to function on a manufacturing/ instructional floor to demonstrate machine and system operation(s).

    Pay Transparency

    Commensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College’s Faculty Salary System. As a point of reference, the salary range for new full-time faculty hired in various disciplines throughout the College for the 2024/25 academic year is $60,563 – $78,407.
