Overview

This position participates in the engagement/qualification, cultivation and solicitation of industry partners, alumni and other constituents of Penn College. This position may require some travel to meet with constituents. May require some evening and weekend work and nighttime driving.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration or related discipline Required

EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years of successful experience in fundraising, sales, business, or a higher education development Required

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Ability to successfully develop business relationships, partnerships, etc. Required
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions. Required
  • Ability to work with diverse constituencies in a professional manner. Required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Required
  • Must possess well developed organizational skills. Required
  • Proficiency with computers and requisite software packages. Must become proficient in the use of constituent database. Required
  • Possession of a valid driver's license. Required
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with staff, faculty, students, alumni and the public. Required

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages a portfolio of primarily industry partners; as well as alumni and friends, to build new and enhance existing mutually beneficial relationships with Penn College.
  • Host guests on campus on a routine basis.
  • Solicits cash and in-kind donations, with a focus on equipment and technology, support for academic programs, scholarships and other fundraising priorities set by the College.
  • Regularly collaborates with colleagues in relevant departments and schools and conveys donor interests/questions/concerns related to their willingness to contribute.
  • Stays up to date on academic programs, in order to communicate effectively with external constituents.
  • Ensure appropriate stewardship of gifts including periodic donor reports, constituent interaction and individualized stewardship plans.
  • Some grant-writing projects.
  • Provides an excellent donor experience through customer service, active listening, inclusive language, and thoughtful and persuasive discussion.
  • Plans some travel to visit with constituents and attend conferences and College Relations events.
  • Maintains all contact reports in Raiser's Edge/constituent database.
  • Stay up to date on IRS regulations.
  • Participate in seminars, conferences, workshops, guideline meetings and other professional development activities to enhance professional abilities.

    Pay Transparency

    Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the yearly salary range is $72,000 - $77,000.
