Overview

This person will be responsible for educational leadership, student instruction, and student advising in CNC machining, robotics, advanced manufacturing, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), and related automation and manufacturing courses.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline. Required
  • Master's Degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline. Preferred


EXPERIENCE

  • 3 to 5 years of industrial experience in robotics, parametric modeling, additive manufacturing and/or lean manufacturing. Required
  • Experience with parametric design software such as SOLIDWORKS, INVENTOR, CATIA, NX. Required
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and background in implementing lean systems. Required
  • Experience in Offline and Teach Pendant programming of Kawasaki and ABB robots.
  • Experience in setup of robotic cells including safety systems and end of arm tooling design. Required
  • Three (3) years teaching experience in a machining and or automated manufacturing program with robotics, additive manufacturing, lean manufacturing and other manufacturing topics. Preferred
  • Experience with various additive manufacturing technologies including FDM, SLA, SLS, and Polyjet. Metal-based additive manufacturing experience is a plus. Preferred
  • Experience in programming with CAM software such as MasterCAM, SolidCAM, Fusion, etc,. including the utilization of macros and subprograms. Preferred
  • Experience in engineering management, budgeting, project management, inspection systems, manual machining, abrasive machining, heat treatment, hydraulics and pneumatics. Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and evaluate student performance in automation, advanced manufacturing, additive manufacturing, quality assurance, and/or Computer Integrated Manufacturing courses.
  • Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate up-to-date records on students.
  • Write and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum review, revision, and development.
  • Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
  • Engage in professional development and technological upgrading activities.
  • Contribute to the betterment of the College through School committee participation.

  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the development of grant proposals and with follow-up activities.
  • Contribute to the betterment of the College through College-wide committee participation.
  • Assume responsibility for laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.
  • Physical Standards and Special Job Features

    Required lifting of weights up to 50 pounds. Requires ability to function on a manufacturing/ instructional floor to demonstrate machine and system operation(s).

    Pay Transparency

    Commensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College’s Faculty Salary System. As a point of reference, the salary range for new full-time faculty hired in various disciplines throughout the College for the 2024/25 academic year is $60,563 – $78,407. The wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for full-time teaching faculty, counselors and librarians (all regular College funded positions and certain grant/contract funded positions) are determined by the negotiated Agreement between Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Education Association. If you are currently receiving an annuity from the State or Public School Employees’ Retirement System, employment at Pennsylvania College of Technology may affect your annuity status. If you are currently a member of either the State or Public School Employees’ Retirement System you may be required to contribute into the System.
