Overview

The Residence Life Coordinator will serve as a full-time live in professional working directly with the Residence Life team to foster a student environment that fulfills the goals and mission of PCT Housing. Each RLC will coordinate and administer all aspects of a successful residential program in their assigned area housing 450-580 residents. RLCs select, train, supervise, and evaluate between 14-17 student staff. Each RLC will take lead on a departmental initiative.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree with experience in residence life supervising a residence facility. Required
  • Enrollment in a graduate program in Student Affairs, Higher Education or relevant discipline. Preferred
  • Master's Degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or related discipline. Preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  •  Valid and in State Valid Driver's License. Required

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience in Residence Life, whether at the paraprofessional, graduate, and/or professional level. Required
  • Experience working with upperclassman student populations and programs Preferred
  • Experience supervising students, preferably in the residence life area. Preferred
  • Experience advising student groups. Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily operations of a residential area housing between 450-580 residents.
  • Participate in the implementation of residence life housing procedures with appropriate College departments.
  • Assist Director in the selection, training, and evaluation of paraprofessional staff.
  • Serve as a representative of Residence Life at College functions including but not limited to Fall and Spring Visitation Days, campus tours, Open Houses, test days, and orientation.
  • Coordinate and evaluate area programs appropriate to the Residence Life programming model.
  • Coordinate area concerns with service departments such as General Services, Campus Police, etc.
  • Address and resolve student problems in the residence hall including disciplinary situations, personal and interpersonal difficulties, referring more difficult situations to the Director of Residence Life or the Dean of Students.
  • Mentor residence hall students on issues related to academic and personal success.
  • Adjudicate low to mid level student conduct cases.
  • Participate in College committees appropriate to the position and as requested.
  • Provide on call coverage for Residence Life issues.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of relevant outcomes that result from programming efforts.
  • Perform various administrative responsibilities to support the operations of the department.
  • Pay Transparency

    Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the yearly salary range is $38,000 - $44,000.
