Overview

This role involves teaching, instructing, and evaluating student performance across various IT disciplines, including but not limited to computer programming, database programming/administration, gaming and simulation, data communications, information assurance, cybersecurity, and networking. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT education, with a preference for experience in software development and/or game and simulation programming. This position offers an opportunity to engage students in hands-on learning and contribute to the development of a dynamic IT curriculum.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Required)
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Preferred) OR
  • Enrollment in an approved Master’s degree program, with completion required by the end of the faculty probationary period (Required)

EXPERIENCE

  • Two (2) years of business, industry, government or nonprofit experience within the field of Information Technology, preference for candidate to have experience in software development and /or game and simulation programming. Other desired experience includes database administration, information assurance and cyber security and/or network and systems administration. Required
  • Related College teaching experience in Information Technology. Preferred
  • Advanced coursework or experience in the following areas: software development, game and simulation. Required
  • Course development and advising experience. Preferred
  • Additional professional development. Preferred
  • Two (2) years of full-time college teaching experience in Information Technology. Preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and evaluate student performance including, but not limited to computer programming, database programming/administration, gaming and simulation, and/or data communications, information assurance and cyber security and networking.
  • Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate records on students.
  • Write and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum review, revision, and development.
  • Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
  • Engage in professional development and technological upgrading activities.
  • Contribute to the betterment of the College through School committee participation.
  • Assist with the writing and preparation of grant proposals and with followup activities.
  • Assist the Dean, Assistant Dean, and/or Department Head with the development and maintenance of learning assessment plans and documentation.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the betterment of the College through Collegewide committee participation.

Pay Transparency

Commensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College’s Faculty Salary System. As a point of reference, the salary range for new full-time faculty hired in various disciplines throughout the College for the 2024/25 academic year is $60,563 – $78,407.
