Overview

This individual will assist the Dining Service Purchasing Agent with tasks related to sourcing, ordering, and tracking products. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and supporting inventory and receiving procedures.

 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  •  Valid and in State Valid Driver's License Required

EXPERIENCE

  • One (1) year experience in receiving and inventory control, preferably in a multi-dimensional food services institutional environment, i.e., retail, cafeteria, snack bar, buffet dining, etc. Required
  • General office experience. Required
  • Experience with computerized inventory control system, preferably CBORD/NetMenu. Preferred

  • Functional ability with or aptitude to learn microcomputer functions. Required
  • Ability to work with limited supervision. Required

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Purchasing Agent with creating and submitting weekly food and general supply orders, as needed.
  • Track deliveries and address delivery issues (e.g. mispicks, damages, delays, shortages, etc.) with Purchasing Agent.
  • Enter new recipes on the system and maintain current menus on Dining Services software, as directed by Supervisor
  • Aid the Shipping & Receiving Workers with weekly deliveries by maintaining accurate records, monitoring product quality, and ensuring proper storage. As needed, fill in for Shipping and Receiving workers, ensuring establish checklist are accurately followed.
  • Assist the Purchasing Agent with monitoring and maintaining appropriate inventory/par levels.
  • Provide support with weekly and/or monthly physical inventory counts to accurately track stock levels, identify potential discrepancies, and prevent waste/shortages.
  • Assist Purchasing Agent in incorporating annual changes to menu cycles for dining units and childcare center.
  • Track manufacture’s rebates and submit documentation for payment to Dining Services. Continuously review the performance of rebate programs, actively searching for additional qualifying purchases.
  • In a timely manner, accurately receive/process purchase orders and other purchasing-related documents. Prepare and file assigned reports and paperwork
  • Act in the capacity of the Purchasing Agent, in the event of their absence.
  • Physical Standards and Special Job Features

    • Subject to variations in temperature and noise.
    • Heavy lifting not to exceed 50 lbs. may be required.
    • Pushing and pulling of kitchen carts at times may weight up to 200 lbs. Loads heavier that 50lbs must follow established safe lifting techniques.

    Pay Transparency

    Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the hourly rate is $15.46 - $20.57
