Overview

The Manufacturing Partnerships Manager will execute substantial activities related to business development, consultative sales, and relationship management with industry partners in central and western Pennsylvania. The goal of this role is to grow enrollment in workforce training programs and apprenticeships within the industrial, manufacturing, and plastics sectors. This includes comprehensive business development through the identification, cultivation, and conversion of manufacturing companies into training and apprenticeship partnerships with the College. This is a hybrid remote work arrangement and requires the employee to have appropriate home office equipment, telephone, and an internet connection to perform all job duties. Residency must be in the state of Pennsylvania. State and nationwide travel will be required, with significant day travel within Central and Western Pennsylvania which includes travel to client and partner sites. Travel is required at least twice per month to the Workforce Development office in Williamsport, PA travel reimbursement will be provided at the current College rate. Flexible schedule and hours beyond normal work week as required to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, marketing, manufacturing, workforce development, other related field or a combination of relevant education and experience. Required

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 - 3 years sales and relationship management experience, including lead generation, preferably related to training. Required
  • Experience in manufacturing industry operations or workforce development. Preferred
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales management tools. Preferred
  • Experience in technical or vocational education sales. Preferred
  • Experience with apprenticeship programs. Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients to address training and project needs.
  • Develop and execute strategic partnership development plans to identify, qualify, and convert manufacturing companies into training program participants and apprenticeship partners.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to manufacturing partners on workforce development trends and best practices.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to manufacturing companies through targeted outreach, email campaigns, networking events, site visits, and industry conferences. This includes travel throughout central and western Pennsylvania.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential manufacturing clients using CRM systems and sales management tools.
  • Perform needs assessments with manufacturing companies to understand their workforce development challenges and opportunities.
  • Facilitate introductions between manufacturing partners to foster peer learning and collaboration.
  • Present and promote the College's comprehensive training solutions, including both standardized and customized programs.
  • Collaborate with Workforce Development staff to develop tailored training proposals and pricing strategies for potential clients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for manufacturing prospects throughout the sales cycle, from initial outreach to program enrollment.
  • Consult on an ongoing basis with Corporate Relations, Career Services, and other offices/persons with assigned company contact responsibility on behalf of the College to coordinate and maximize efforts.
  • Coordinate with other WD staff for ongoing support of clients as necessary.
  • Track and report on sales activities, pipeline development, and conversion metrics.
  • Represent Workforce Development and the College in the community, at manufacturing industry events, trade shows, and professional organizations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of manufacturing industry trends, workforce challenges, and training best practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing industry associations and economic development organizations.
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials and sales presentations targeted to manufacturing audiences.
  • Negotiate program terms, pricing, and contracts with manufacturing clients.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to manufacturing executives and decision-makers.
  • Promote the mission and services of WD and the College through presentations, service on committees, and participation in meetings with various agencies.
  • Assist in the strategic planning process and execute the objectives of WD.
  • Prepare financial, statistical, and other activity reports and projections as requested by the supervisor.

    Pay Transparency

    Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the yearly salary range is $72,000 - $82,000.
