Overview

The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time or substitute basis in the Forest Technology program.

 

Location: Allenwood, Pennsylvania (ESC)

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Associate's Degree in Forestry related discipline, OR, equivalent combination of education and experience. Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or closely related discipline. Preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years industry experience. Required
  • Relevant secondary or postsecondary school teaching experience. Preferred

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
  • Developed organizational skills. Required
  • Possession of a valid driver's license. Required

 

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and evaluate students in one or more of the courses offered in the Forest Technology program, including but not limited to: chainsaw safety, forest mensuration, dendrology, wood products, silviculture, wildlife management, wildland firefighting, pest management, and/or timber operations.
  • Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
  • Attend department meetings as requested.
  • Complete official student rosters and return to School office as required.

Physical Standards and Special Job Features

Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Pay Transparency

The part-time rate for 2025/26 will be the greater of $1160 per credit or $773 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $48.31 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
