Overview

The Coordinator of Student Organizations & Innovation Initiatives plays a key role in creating a dynamic, engaging campus experience through the planning, promotion, and execution of both small- and large-scale student events and programs. This position is highly hands-on and student-facing, combining event planning with student organization support to design experiences that reflect student interests, encourage participation, and foster connection, leadership, and innovation outside the classroom.

 

In this role, the coordinator partners closely with students to develop creative programming ideas, advises student organizations in their ideas from concept to reality, manages budgets and timelines, and collaborates with campus offices to deliver high-quality co-curricular experiences. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, creativity, an understanding of student engagement trends, and the ability to generate excitement and attendance around campus activities. Evening and weekend hours are required to support student programming.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree In appropriate discipline. Required
  • Master's Degree In a relevant discipline. Preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid and in State Valid Driver's License. Required

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience planning and executing large scale events. Required
  • Related work experience preferably in an educational facility in Student Engagement/ Activities, Student Affairs, Residence Life, and/or Student Orientation. Required
  • Experience in leading trainings or workshops. Required
  • Prior experience advising students organizations. Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate weekly, monthly, and annual educational programming and observations
  • Create, facilitate, and market social programming to enhance student engagement and community development.
  • Assist the Director in the development of Student Engagement budget areas.
  • Plan, organize, and support community service events and volunteer opportunities for students.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Student Engagement to develop, implement, and support initiatives that promote student leadership, entrepreneurship, and student-run businesses
  • Provide support and strategic growth of student organizations, including tracking and monitoring of organizational requirements and training completion.
  • Support OSE initiatives by being a trainer/facilitator (i.e. Youth Leadership, QPR, Bystander Intervention, NSO, Challenge Course, Student Org. Training, etc.)
  • Support OSE annual programming (i.e. Wildcat Weekend, Unity Day, Yellow it Out, SGA Silent Auction,
  • Open House/Accepted Student Day)
  • Assist the Director with the development of new programming initiatives to respond to student needs, e.g. late night, non-alcoholic alternatives, etc.
  • Plan, implement, and support civic engagement programs, events, and collaborative initiatives that encourage student participation and community involvement.
  • Foster relationships and create opportunities for community engagement, building strong connections between students and the Williamsport community.
  • Work collaboratively with other College offices on co-curricular engagement opportunities.
  • Stay current on national community and college service trends and issues, specifically related to student organizations, student engagement, leadership, personal development, innovation, and new student programs.

Physical Standards and Special Job Features

  • Must be able to move about freely around campus.
  • Ability to lift and/or move equipment weighing approximately 30 lbs.

Pay Transparency

Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the yearly salary range is $53,000 - $63,000.
